Our Santa Maria / San Luis Obispo Office
It has been the goal of our electrophysiology program to bring an unrivalled level of technology technology and a high level of care to patients throughout the Central California Coast. To that end, Dr. Gidney and Marian Regional Medical Center have opened a state-of-the-art 1,000 square foot, $1.5 million electrophysiology lab at the hospital.
Our beautiful Santa Maria location gives patients in the area access to the first fully staffed and dedicated electrophysiology lab in the area, opening new treatment options near home. Further, patients in nearby communities such as San Luis Obispo will have greater access to care and a wider choice of providers and hospitals.
Dr. Gidney has been offering these advanced arrhythmia treatment options including no-radiation catheter ablation, Watchman Device Implant, Micra Transcatheter Leadless Pacemaker, His Bundle Pacemakers, and epicardial ablation at this location since September 2016.

Care for irregular heartbeats has advanced by leaps and bound in recent decades. Traditional implantable devices such as pacemakers and ICDs have become smaller, longer-lasting an more reliable. Options exist for a subcutaneous AICD without any wires or attachments to the heart, pacemakers without incisions, and devices to eliminate the need for blood thinners in those with afib. Novel, effective therapies such as catheter ablation have made treating many heart rhythm disorders a one-time same day procedure.
